Automatically split project regions into new individual projects
Basically, I record a lot of live sessions and the most convenient way of doing this in Reaper is to setup the project and just let the band/artist track.
Normally, I then select regions for each song, and I almost always end up splitting the master project regions into new individual projects (I.e. a project per song for instance) for tweaking/etc.
It'd be really useful if there was a function to do this automatically. I.e. so anyone who records a project, can region out that project and then use a function to split the regions to individual new projects, 1 project per region, with all the tempo mapping, automation, fx parameters etc. relevant to that region kept intact.
This would be a massive benefit to people who are recording lots of live sessions and making heavy use of the region feature. I also think there's a lot of potential here for people doing more media based stuff. I've never used the region feature without having to tweak mix/params for each region using automation which is a bit inconvenient a lot of the time.

Same boat. I actually came here hoping someone had already scripted this up.

I'm wondering if this can be scripted. This would be useful to me sometimes to automate a number of manual steps. The part requiring most thought would probably be the multiple naming and saving of the destination files.
I'll give this some thought and see how involved it is.

Same boat.
I record my band's work in one project and add regions where songs or usable ideas to persue exist.
I end up just rough mixing levels by region, then adding to render cue.
A way to convert region to a new project would be grand.

Could be nice : doing studio jazz recordings here, all musicians in one room, and recording big chunks of audio.
This, or put the regions into sub-projects. (new window with it's own tracks/parent tracks)
What I do now come mix time is save each region selection manually as a project "Project Name_Piece 1.RPP" and up sequentially.
For certain projects where keeping the played dynamics (not compression; piano/mezzoforte etc.... ) is important, I like keeping all the songs/pieces in one session though, trimming items gain's more than working the fader.
I've been thinking a lot about this for some time now.
A complementary thought - if memory serves me well I created a FR for this -
is to have regions being considered as a bus, where every item in the region is routed to a "region bus".
With a "region bus", as we already have item fx = possible to mixing regions as songs in one session without having to swap....

Any headway on this?
I find it much faster to record in one project. Being able to export regions to new products would be extremely helpful. Perhaps this is possible now and I just didn't get the memo?
