Default timecode or time ruler in midi editor

Title says it all. At the moment, even if your project is in timecode, the midi editor will always display bars and beats.
(editing to timecode is handy if you spot to video and you use midi to trigger sfx, editing to time is handy when you recorded free tempo live music and just need to edit by ear.

Default Old post but still needed.

The fact that I can transfer a sound effect to a sampler on a new track is magic, but I'd like to edit the midi based on a timecode ruler. Bars and beats mean nuttin to me.

Hi Mcoyle, maybe this helps you as well, this is an answer I got from a Reaper user:
This works fine for me, although it would still be nice to have TC in the midi editor one day...

>> does not seem to be a way to see hr min sec frms in the midi editor and it makes sense to me that one would mostly not want to ...
That said, you can set the main ruler to that time code, and then select any midi item and hit E key [the default unless you changed it] to show that item in the 'Inline Editor' view... then you will see the notes in relation to the main ruler time code and can edit them <<

As a post production engineer I would also love to have TC in midi editor.

For basic midi editing you can work on MIDI clip directly in the timeline:
"Item: Open item inline editors" action (default shortcut "E") makes the item editable right in the timeline/arrange window.
