Default Turn off audio device?

Can this be done with one keyboard shortcut?

The problem is when I use ASIO drivers I cannot use other application which use directsound/waveout such as an external editor (e.g. CoolEdit). So before I edit audio files I need to switch the device to waveout in the Preferences.

Now I noticed when Reaper renders files to WAV, it switches the devices off. It would be cool to turn it off quickly witha shortcut.

You can set a key to 'audio device configuration', which would bring up the device window, but then you'd have to change it yourself.

I could write an AutoHotkeys script that'd do it with a keystroke...if you're into that (there's probably only a handful here who are)
