Default POD XT in reaper

Hi
I ve got a little problem using my podxt in reaper. If I use the usb i get a lot of crackled sounds, the guitar sounds perfect but it sounds like an old LP with dust. Is it anyone who can help me?

I know i can use the regular outputs and connect it to line in on my pc, then the crackled sound is gone.

But somehow my mind thinks i can get better sounds from the usb....

Thanks for anyhelp.

you should be getting the best sound from spdif, or at least a better sound than USB! i would use the analog connection to my sound card before USB. YMMV!

Using the USB of the PODxt makes it function as an ASIO soundcard. I also use an XT and the crackle comes from having your latency set too low. Go to the control panel and set the direct monitoring buffer size up a notch at a time until the crackle goes away. Settings that also affect this are the ASIO client settings, primarily the default buffer size. I use direct monitor buffer size of "4" and default ASIO buffer size of 512 to avoid the crackles.

Er...USB has nothing to say about sound quality - it's just a digital interface.
