Does my mix translate too bright and thin?
Hello folks! can you guys tell me how does my mix sound in your room. i mixed this in untreated room and i have feeling that this mix might sound thin on other systems. I've check my mix on headphone it sounded okay but I'm not sure how okay it is. i would appreciate any inputs to improve my mix as I'm still learning. Thank you!

Bass a bit unclear at some times, I want more of it to punch through it really drives the fall onto the 1

sounds good to me.
any changes would be based on taste; not whether it's good or bad - better or worse - just different.
i can hear everything & not too bright at all.
i would say nice job.

was noodling in studio just now so fired this up, quick comparison to a reference i use alot on my mono NS10, think could do with some more in the 'meat' 100 range,
as mentioned anything else is taste, i'd maybe have some elements in a bit of a 'room' (verb) rhodes particularly, creating a bit of space - but cool tune !

Agree with all above, especially Fergler... "needs a bit more punch...".
But still a nice listen !!

That bass groove sounds delicious, but I wish I could hear it better!

I can hear why the 'bottom end' might be given a challenge.
The Kick is a bit 'puffy', and is in the middle of the bass.
I might suggest:
1. A bit tighter compression on the bass so that it keeps firm.
2. The Kick is not really snapping through. It is a busy part [which is fine, and works well for the track]. But trying to get bottom punch in the kick is going to distract from the bassline in a way [maybe] not wanted.
You may want to go for a more snappy Kick [eq/compression], but tie it to the bass sound by compression both together [BUS]. In this way, the illusion of punch is with the kick using the bass for it's bottom end and its' snap for definition. [idea: a dbx160 compressor loves that type of sound ... think EW&F.
just some ideas ... have fun.
