are there any scripts to automate nudging item position

I am looking to mor or less continuously automate moving midi items about in free item position mode - Nudge would seem to be the action needed - is there a script or any possibility to automate Nudge and write that automation to a curve?

It seems like a dangerous idea, since moving items backwards could make the playhead miss note-offs.

Yep, but I have uses for it already using the mouse. Automating would be good for me
