soundtoys decapitator keeps triggering automute

Ill be using decapitator and all of a suddent automute is triggered. Automute is set at the default 18 db's and currently set to mute the master fader (changed it to master fader because when i have the track in question soloed, it automutes the track and all the other tracks get unmuted making it really loud, which is another issue). When this happens the peak meter is reading something like 600 dbs. Anyone else having this issue? ive tried both the AU and the VSt version and they both do it. Also have restarted reaper and have the latest 4.52 update.

what OS and what version of decapitator?

Mac OS is 10.8.4 and the Decapitator version is I believe 4.0.2

REAPER 32 or 64 bit? Decapitator 32 or 64 biz?

if he's at 4.0.2, an older version, it is most certainly 32 bit.
