Default Problem with zoomed MIDI Editor - bottom row hidden

Hello,

I wonder if I have some bad setting or this is a bug; anyway, quite annoying when you're trying to work with a zoomed MIDI editor (double click on MIDI editor title bar): the bottom row goes under the Windows task bar.

Windows 7 Pro x64, REAPER x86.

Is there something that can be done?

Any hint is welcome.

Thanks,
Mario

Mine is above the toolbar, so I am sure this must be a windows setting somewhere.

*edit*

The only way I can recreate that, is to put auto-hide taskbar on...

Thank you for checking, I have autohide off and it doesn't seem to matter if the task bar is blocked or not.

XP has a properties setting for the taskbar called something like "keep taskbar always in the foreground". It is independent from the auto-hide. I'm assuming Win7 has a setting like that as well.

Sadly not, according to some research ...

Let me add that the main REAPER window works properly, even when zoomed full screen, in that it stays completely above the taskbar.

The problem is limited to the zoomed MIDI editor.

ME does the same here, but on the right edge. When maximized it doesn't fill the entire screen, it leaves a gap on the right edge of the screen.
It does respect the locked taskbar though, so a bit of a different thing. Actually, the maximized mixer does the same.

Definitely a OS setting (or theme related?) problem here; it works ok on another PC.

Kinda resurrecting this thread, I'm still dead in the water with this problem:

Main PC - workstation with NVIDIA chipset video card (XFX 8500GT), single monitor:

- Windows 7 x64, latest video drivers (301.x) installed, Aero enabled, single monitor: mixer and MIDI editor maximize below the taskbar

- Aero disabled (Windows classic theme) on same system: everything fine, mentioned windows maximize leaving the taskbar alone below them.

This happens with all themes I tried including default.
Tried a lot of tweaks but to no avail so far.

Secondary PC - Toshiba laptop with Intel based video card:

- Windows 7 x64, single monitor. Everything fine even in Aero mode.

What gives? Any clue on how I can fix other than reverting to classic mode?

Thanks,
Mario

I've run into this too. Basically it's if I've shifted the ME window one direction or another. Also there are times just loading Reaper and it seems to come up slightly offscreen and can be a bugger to get straightened out, hard to grab an edge.

However, I just basically grab an edge or two until I can center it and then all is fine.

This is with Win-7.

I have keep the taskbar on top of other windows exclusively set.
It's a bug.

Ok, thread isn't that old so I'm going to throw in...having the same problem, using Win7 x64 w/ Aero turned on. With Aero off, it's fine. I'm using Reaper 4.32 (latest at time of this posting). Seems some projects do it and others do not. I've not found any difference between any of the projects.

I'm having same problem with Windows 8.

reaper window works fine. full screen midi window maximises to entire screen size, so is behind the taskbar.

if i put the taskbar on the left, this still happens. ie left edge of midi winodow behing taskbar.

very annoying.

Resurrecting this thread because the problem seems solved in REAPER 4.58.

Running now NVidia Drivers 331.82, cannot say if it's REAPER or NVidia (or Windows?) update tat fixes, but it now works ok :O

Thanks,
Mario

I don't know if it has anything to do with this but I'm having
problems getting some of my toobars to stay on top.

They'll seem to be working fine and then for no reason get hidden
and I'll have to reset them again by clicking the little stick pin.

At times though the little stick pin gets stuck and won't move until
I Save, go out of Reaper and reload.

I'm sure it's unrelated to this but this reminded me of it.

I confirm it's totally solved here... have you updated video drivers? have you got an NVidia video card?

Just updated to the latest driver (onboard NVIDIA Geforce 7100/630i), still the same.

Not sure if you still need help but this works for me, pain less and simple.

http://www.sevenforums.com/customiza...isable-2.html?

Just download the free program, it's safe.
Right click the 7TT icon on the taskbar after run -> Advanced options -> click disable_topmost ->

enter 2 (from 0) -> click apply and ok

*note the program has to run for the fix to work so set it to run at startup during install

This program does lots of things but this will let your taskbar stay in place and allow it to be covered by windows.
