Default Minor Nitpick

This is a 2.5 on a scale of 10.

I recall when I first started dipping into software development, reading some "best practice" articles re: design and all that, and reading (multiple times) about how annoying unnecessary UI prompts can be to the end user. Here's an unnecessary prompt I think...

When you delete an automation lane, "Clear Envelope", it prompts you to confirm which is imo, unnecessary, especially given Reaper's undo system. Since you can't multi-select envelope lanes and delete a bunch of them at once (maybe with SWS, dunno) that's a lot of confirmation dialogs.

Contrast that with deleting media items, which are arguably much more important than any automation, no confirmation prompt.

So (imo) "Clear Envelope" should be changed to "Delete Envelope", to make it perfectly clear what it will do, and not prompt for confirmation.

Thanks.

Annoying, yes.

And here is another one...
Reaper asks too early if you want to save the current project when you open a new one. If the new one is opened in a new tab, there should be no "save current project?" dialog. Only if the current project is being closed should Reaper ask. Bugs the hell outta me all the time...

Not sure on the nomenclature since it really is clearing the envelope points and not deleting the envelope itself; the envelope (I assume) is virtually there at all times, but I didn't really reply to discuss that but rather...

It should ideally have a "don't show me this again checkbox". That does cause the extra work of now having a setting to re-enable the warning but is likely the most user-friendly efficient method and would fall well within standard intuitive practice.

I hear you Karbo.

I think of it as delete because (I guess) it deletes all the nodes, turns off the read parameter and hides the envelope. I mean, I suppose you could "clear" all the nodes from an envelope and still not change the automation mode.

But you're right nonetheless, the naming of it doesn't matter so much. Agree. I also agree about the common "Don't show this dialog again." checkbox option to switch it off directly.

Thanks.
