Dear Devs,
is it possible to have this, but with a preserving of the parameter values? For example, I have a plugin, which is 32 bit. It's unstable and I can't open it, but I need all parameter values.

Would it be possible to replace the plugin with an another one, which have the same names of almost all parameters(e.g. the same plugin with a 64bit architeture or newer version, where devs added one/some new parameters)?

I do not think that that is possible - the structure of VST data chunks, in which the parameters are stored, is unique to the plug-in.

Also, how often would this be used.

So, there is no possibility to replace in this way even plugin with another architecture(I mean 32/64bit) or newer version with, for example, one parameter added?

would be nice to have a way to replace AU with VST. The recent change to Waves AU was a kick in the dick to a couple of my friends.

I usually copy the FX, tweak the parameters and then I can easily switch on either copy.

I used this procedure a lot when trying out different rooms with ReaVerb.

Speaking of That, for a stereo track I often use two instances of ReaVerb with a "L" and an "R" IR.

So it would be nice to be able to "replace" both at the same time.

Hence, regarding the initial suggestion it might be a better idea to allow the user manage multiple sets of all parameters in the effect chain and swap these patches my a mouse-click.
