Default Large Files rendering problem (rendering bug?)

Hello,

I am experiencing a problem when rendering large files (8 hours).
Once rendered, the size of the file suggests it is the correct length (5.26 GB), however only a fraction of the file (1'30'' hours, minutes) is displayed by the finder and only said fragment appears when opened in other applications (quicktime, audacity, peak).
Nevertheless, the file has the correct length when imported back to Reaper.
I have tried both WAV and AIFF formats.

Is this a rendering bug, or am I doing something wrong?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

When you render to wav, check the box for 'let large files use Wave64 format'. Wave files larger than 4GB need the w64 format. The size field in the header only goes to 4GB in the standard version.

Reaper seems to have the kind ability to ignore incorrect headers when it comes up.

Note that this is still poorly supported by some apps even if you follow the rules yourself. You may need to use the .w64 or .wav extension for the Wave64 file depending on what app you're feeding it to.
