How can I export the Length of Midi Notes from the event List?
Hey dear Reaper-Community,
I am working with Frequency to Midi for a composition and now I need the total lenght of every note (when a certain note appears x times, I sum the different lenghts up.)
In the end I need for every note a number, how long it was sounding.
I think the most easy way is to do the calculation external? but for that I need the numbers. It could be so easy but I can't just copy it from the event list, or am I doing something wrong?
I could use the raw midi data, but then there is one extra step, because there isn't the lenght directly shown. And I am a little bit confused, because sometimes the numbers for the pitch are like "4A" for example.
Can someone give me any advice?
This would be so nice! Thank you very much!!

It's a new approach so forgive me if I get it wrong.
Piano roll would show notes where they start and stop.
If anything overlapping and getting unwanted legato stuff - is that what you try to avoid?
I think it is easy to just remove notes not wanted in prv and extend the one left to last end position of last note.

how to copy/export values from midi event list
Hey People,
I already asked this, but I hope my question is more clear now:
Is there a way to copy/export all values of one parameter (in my case "lenght") from the midi event list? It seems, like I can only copy one value a time.
I need the values to do some calculations with them.
I would appreciate any help! Thank you very much!!

Hello and welcome
Try this: https://stash.reaper.fm/v/31016/getnotes.lua
Download the script, and run it from the MIDI Editor
Actions / Show action list... / ReaScript - Load (select file)... then Run
It will print all notes in the editor to the Reaper console. You can cut and paste from there
Hope that helps, but let me know if you get stuck
Cheers
Rob
