Default Drag BPM to adjust tempo during playback.

I personally find Sonar/Reaper method of adjusting BPM clumsy. I love Ableton Live / Project 5 method of simply adjusting tempo by ear.

If Reaper engine can't accomodate real time tempo changes while transport is running, I suggest at least allowing drag to set new value and have tempo change on release of mouse click.

I love how you can drag a value in Ableton Live higher or lower, it's so fast

yes.
I still have that reflex of onmouseover/vertical drag for modifying tempo. It is much better than typing a value or hitting tap tempo (even if tap tempo is really nice in some situations)

Mousewheel or drag on BPM textbox like you can do with faders would rock! (also on playrate!)

Drew,

I'm not sure when this was implemented, but the playrate is mousewheel adjustable from the Master in track view.

See my FR to leverage that function here:

Hmm - My fader control via mousewheel has been turned off since I was forever moving left to the TCP to scroll up & down the track view and inadvertently changing fader positions. For me it's just too fiddly to watch exactly where I am positioned before scrolling up/down. As such the faders in the mixer including playrate don't work.

Yeah, I do that to, it's a bit faster than grabbing the modifier sometimes...so my fader scroll is off too.

Like you guys, I was messing up my faders at first. However, once I realized that I could scroll tracks up/down safely with the mousewheel anywhere to the right of the FX button, my fader problems have gone away almost completely. That is a pretty large mousewheel region.
