Default Reaper with Focusrite Saffire 40, Glitches while Playback

I have a Macbook Pro Mid 2012 OSX Yosemite 10.10.5 Memory 8 GB.
Interface: Focusrite Saffire 40 Firewire and Glyph external drive.

Issue: During playback of Track (music) with Reaper there
are random glitch (dropouts in sound). The Media Buffer size
is the default 1200ms.Other than this issue, all else seems
to working ok.

Anybody else experience this kind of issue? Thank you in advance.

Eric,
Have you checked you drivers? Maybe reinstall them and restart.
I don't see anything glaring in your description to cause a problem.

Macs don't have drivers. They have CoreAudio.

Have you done all of these things?

I found that eliminating all of the unused network interfaces made a huge difference, and I'm running on an i5 2010 Mini.

are you using some other FW devices?
There's only one FW bus, so if you are using it both for the audio interface AND, for example, an hard drive...it's possible you're saturating (does this word exist? ) the bus

Pardon me... the name I was looking for was "Mix control software".
