Default ReaFir makes the sound to start before it was, depending on FFT size? (SOLVED)

edit: Solved. Not a bug.

I'm having some issues with ReaFir with the sound starting a bit before where it should.

steps to reproduce (in gif):
1: first render time selection without ReaFir. sounds starts where the MIDI note is. Ok.
2: activate ReaFir, with 4096 FFT size. Render time selection. Sound starts before MIDI note.
3: change FFT size to 32768. Sound starts even before. It seems it depends on the FFT size.

Is this expected? Or a bug? I'm not saying it is critically bad. Just curiousity.

This is pre-echo, which is to be expected when applying non-linear FFT-based processing.

Thank you Justin.
Interesting! Ok, knowing this now I can just make some small fade-ins and it's solved.

it happens to everything, not just the start of a file.
you will have the "pre-echo" before every "transient".

Yes. But It only bothers me a bit at the start where there is silence before anything else. Maybe it is more noticeable in the middle, for audio material with big transients. Not in my particular case. But indeed this is something interesting to have in mind.
