Critique this mix?

Hello everyone,

I downloaded free multi tracks from Cambridge music to practice mixing.
I'm still a beginner but thought I would post it up and get some pointers.
This is the first song I'm actually attempting to mix so any feed back would be cool so I can improve

It's a metal song so if anyone cares to take a listen

I think the volume difference from the opening guitars and when the full song kicks in is too big. The opening guitars are louder than the whole song itself. Also, the guitars and vocals have a bit too much in the high mid range ~2kHz to ~4kHz it sounds like. Not bad for a first run though!

Hopefully it will return soon.

Without hearing it at all I have to totally agree with Sammy.
Sammy has experience, good ear and is knowledgeable.
Believe that !!!

Hey Bcf! Yea I should have kept it on longer, I took it down to remix it once I finish I'll repost it and leave it on there longer, sorry about that! 😀

Um....I'd say YEAH! Balance is perfect now, and vocals are smoother (well, mix-wise).

It's fun, I'll just have to keep at it, hopefully soon enough I can post our own tune for critique but we don't have a bass line or vocal as of yet but I may just post anyway even if it's incomplete

Don't know so much about 'guidance' than just suggestions from what I hear. But sounds like it helped lead in the right direction. Looking forward to the originals.
