Plugins malfunction when I reopen a project

Every time I close a project and then open it again some most of my plugins malfunction. What will happen is there will be no sound coming from the tracks the plugins are on. There's not even anything on the meters. This means if I have a malfunctioning plugin on the master track the entire song is completely silent (which was extremely confusing to me before I figured out what was going on). If I bring up the FX tab I can see the plugins, but when I click on the UI button, the UI is missing. If I bypass the malfunctioning plugin then I can here the track. This is extremely annoying as I have to remove the plugin and add it again to get to work, and only for it to do the same thing the next time to open the project. Just today I figured out that I don't even need to close the project for the problem to occur. I reapplied my plugins, opened a new project tab, and when I returned to the previous project, the plugins I just applied malfunctioned! Please help!
