Default Reaper thinks audio clip is a video item

Reaper thinks an audio clip is a video clip. Steps to create are as follows:

I'm cutting audio to video, just like I would in Pro Tools or any DAW.

My main video goes green when the play cursor passes the boundaries of this audio clip.

If I MUTE the audio clip, then the main video plays back normally.

Getting media item properties - Reaper thinks this is a video clip. Turns out the file type (Mac) is "m4a".

How do I instruct Reaper to think this is an audio file not a video file? Its an Apple Lossless file that doesn't have any video in it.

select the item and run the "glue item" action to re-render as a .wav
