Default How to NOT auto lock items after freezing?

Hello,

How can I configure reaper to not freeze items automatically after freezing? I don't like it because when an item is locked it is harder to see the waveforms and also i sometimes do editing after freezing.

Thank you very much!

You can click on the little lock icon on the item and unlock them!

You can set up some custom actions to freeze and then unlock automatically..but I am not the guy to set up the actions for you. Go into the action menu and start building some custom actions.

i have the feeling that this might need to be a feature request for the feature request subforum.

i also wish that it didn't lock all the items.
i tend to freeze right before editing the audio so it's a hassle.

You think so? Should i request this?

Yeah like for vocals I freeze with compression first then edit so that i can hear the small noises.

I think that since so many people have so many different ways of using Reaper, it's default is fine...especially since, unlike other DAWs, with Reaper it is fairly simple to set up custom actions and tie them to a shortcut or toolbar. Everyone can have it their own way with zero feature requests or modifications to Reaper's development. But set up a feature request anyway if that suits you. But while you wait for a possible implementation (if at all), peruse the actions list for a minute or two, set it up how you want it, and get back to work with your new streamlined custom workflow!
