Default Can't Use CMD + A to select all in menus (OS X)

This may tie into my bug report about not being able to use the CMD + V shortcut to paste text into certain fields in REAPER such as the box that pops up to save a session (paste only works by right clicking in the field), but here is another thing:

In most OSX apps, if you perform an action that allows you to load open files, usually pressing Command + A will select all items in that menu/list. In REAPER, this does not work.

Can it be made to work like other apps? It would be a nice little time saver.

Thanks.

Hi
Have you took some time to look at if they were still assigned to their default actions;

Thanks, but that's not it. I'm also referring to when a menu is open such as when you choose "Insert>Media File".

In most OS X apps, CMD + A would select all the files in the list. REAPER just give me the OS X error tone indicating that you can't do that.

Bump. Would be a very nice time saver to press CMD + A and select all the files in a pop up menu as you can do in all other properly coded OS X apps.

Same goes for using CMD + V to paste a name into a field such as when first saving a project.

I'm guessing this is from some outdated code somewhere that needs to be updated.

I just tried this and can confirm that there seems to be a problem. The equivalent system commands (Ctrl+A, Ctrl+V) work fine in the windows version of Reaper so this is an issue specifically with the OSX version.

Thanks. To be fair, WaveLab currently has this issue for OS X but it will be fixed in the next update. In WaveLab this is related to A Qt issue...probably the same for REAPER.

Actually, ahead of schedule, 5.23pre10 has this (check the prerelease forum). Whether it will go in 5.23 final, we'll see, but give us feedback over there! Thanks.

Thanks. I'm still using the last official release but I'll grab 5.23pre10 and check it out.

I know this may seem small, but I can't tell you how happy I am to be able to use CMD + A to select all files in a menu/list as you can in nearly all OS X apps.

Thank you.

I made an FR a long time ago about the same thing, I think I may have even made a detailed list of what text boxes were missing what. I know one of them was the item notes though that may have been fixed. Another was the filter in the fx menu.

Pasting in Item Notes and in the FX menu filter seems to work now as well.
