JS FX - wasted space
There is a lot of wasted space on JS FX GUIs:
Half of the window width is reserved for the slider labels, whether it is needed or not. If the width were reduced according to the actual slider labels, the sliders would be wider (hence easier to use) or the GUI width could be reduced by the user to free up screen space.

Agreed. And some js plugs don't display the whole themselves GUIs.

I think the space is there because of the triggers but it would be nice if it noticed whether the triggers were being used or not.

Could be, but that's no reason to use 50% of the width for the slider names.

Bump for this one, as we will be getting:
Quote:
JSFX: waste less screen space for graphical scripts without visible triggers or sliders

Don't think so, that release note is regarding something else. Graphical scripts means JS FX that are using gfx commands to draw the GUI, not the default slider view.

That's what I thought - but I do not know what space was being wasted in those circumstances

You guys aren't reading the line correctly:
Quote:
JSFX: waste less screen space for graphical scripts without visible triggers or sliders

For JSFX that use graphics, and have no triggers or sliders, in 5.16+ you get this:
instead of this (5.15):
It's a minor difference, yes. Overhauling JSFX to arrange sliders more intelligently is on my list of things to do, it's just a lot more difficult to do well without upsetting many of you.
