No, just like Reaper... no 'demo' restrictions!

The Stillwell/Schwa plugins are very good. Don't forget to pay for the ones you keep!

I like to add little icons in the list to show which are 64 bit and also when a plugin is available for Mac. However, as they are not available at smilies I need to add urls pointing to such icons and I'm moving close to the max character limit for those posts for quite a while now so that bear won't fly (or some such ).

Hofa who do a fancy eq that I haven't tried, also have some freebies. One in particular is the one called project time which logs how long you have a project open in your daw, for those that use it for your day job.

plus a ms decoder and some other stuff

I haven't tried their plugins yet so I have no idea if there are ads etc

No ads, just great plugins, the free pack with the meters is worth having.

I love rock:
http://www.concretefx.com/Rock.htm

Far better than synth1, light on CPU, plenty of additive tweaking if you are into this.

It's from 2004, and I keep reading at KVR that filters etc have made huge progress in 10 years, but I don't see anything wring with the sound.

Opinions?

I would like to nominate the addition of Variety of Sound's SlickEQ to THE LIST.

http://www.tokyodawn.net/tdr-vos-slickeq/

Freeware audio plug-in available for Windows and Mac in VST and Audio Units format (both 64-bit and 32-bit).

This thing's a beaut.

This plugin is a collaboration between VOS and Tokyo Dawn. I can vouch for it, it's a great sounding EQ.

I am glad I posted something a long long time ago, I get emails when updates to the thread happen, and every once in awhile I will swing back through and read about as many free plugs as I can again. Great Great resource thread here. Thanks.

Just picked up Proximity, looking forward to checking it out.

Used it a bit in the past with good results, but a few versions ago consistently crashed reaper and not used it since. Gonna give it another try though

I've been using this ADT plugin for a few years now. I have no idea how the Waves plugin sounds, but I have no desire to try it. Vacuumsound's plugin sounds great to me.

Junk Guitar for Kontakt, an electric guitar sample library (IDK if pre-distorted or clean), appears to be completely free. Didn't try it yet and the readme is in blissful japanese, so prepare to get lost.

Too bad it doesn't work with Kontakt Player, almost defeating the purpose of being free if Kontakt itself isn't, in case you don't own it yet.

This is a long running thread, but I'm just dropping in to say thanks. I was able to recover my long lost Oatmeal and Scuzzphut thanks to this thread.

To chip in and be productive though, I also use Ugo's Rez 3 synth.

And U-He's Zebralette is now freeware as well: http://www.u-he.com/cms/zebralette

Though I use U-He's Tyrell the most.

At the risk of being accused of spamming to get my stuff out there (because that's exactly what I'm doing!). I'm working on getting a whole orchestra and a whole band on Maize VSTi to help out folks who might want some free instruments. The Orchestra is based on Sonatina.
http://bigcatinstruments.blogspot.co...ize-vstis.html

If you use Kontakt there are over 1/3 of a thousand instruments on the blog including one for every slot in the GM 1 Soundset.

A question for bigcat.
Some SSO instruments (violins for example) are bundled in the same mse file.
Is it a way to switch from, say, sustain to staccato using midi message (CCs?).
They don't seem to respond to program changes.

And thanks for your work.

Thanks Fergler!
Sadly no, Gibi25. The violins are keyswitched starting with C3, if memory serves, if that helps at all.

Default Flextron amp sim

I was looking to see if any new guitar plugins had been released recently and came across the excellent Flextron amp sim. I expect you guys are already on this, but for anyone who missed it, it's definitely one to try out.

http://www.soft-amp.com/flextron

Here's a short 4-bar demo I made with it.

https://stash.reaper.fm/22110/Flextro...f_Bm_72bpm.mp3

Some other great free stuff - this bass guitar:

http://www.karoryfer.com/karoryfer-s...wa/fashionbass

...into bass grinder free is just perfect for me:

http://audio-assault.com/downloads.html

All you need is a decent drumkit plugin and you got one hell of a rock backing band right there!

Default Flextron amp sim - again!

Made another riff with Flextron today, more melodic this time. Loving this thing at the moment.

Partner it up with the humble Kjaerhus Audio Classic Series and you've got all you need. Nice.

A new freeware sampler instument was released by Volko Audio. darbuka-nut

It's a darbuka hand drum with MIDI loops, much like their VAD drums plugin.

152 MB download, so should have a boatload of articulations and layers. I haven't fired it up yet but I'm confident it will sound great and be easy to use.
