Can I safely use my Reaconfig file from v4.78 on v5?

And can we use old themes or should we wait for updated versions?

Thanks

What a great bunch of people here, devs, testers, forum members et al.
SUCH a pleasure to see all of this happening. Didn't imagine in 2006 that Reaper would go that far.

Merci, merci, merci

Default Huh?

Cool stuff...but...

1. Ripple editing still doesn't affect Tempo Markers when moving items.

2. "Like a version"...I LOL'ed (not a problem, though).

2. "Extensions" menu gone missing? I had re-appropriated it as Window list, so kinda need it.

3. Ripple editing still doesn't affect Tempo Markers when moving items, like it did in previous versions.

How did you install REAPER 5? As always, over the previous version or in addition to REAPER 4? Double-check the installation folder in the installer (by re-running it, you can abort after checking the folder).

I installed mine over V4 and it picked up everything. It also seems to sound better. I don't know why, but it does.

EDIT: Changed some folder security settings and it seems it was some bs windows permissions crap...so nevermind about all that.

Then Justin said, "Let there be REAPER version 5.0"; and there was REAPER version 5.0. Justin saw that the installer was good; and Justin separated the pre-releases from the official public build.

Awesome ... just done a portable install to check all is OK as I am still doing work ...

Seems a little more efficient, and definitely more "analog" hehe!

The "extensions" menu item did not appear until I re-installed my SWS stuff. That is, no empty menu until it's populated!

Is it me, or is the installation of Reaper 5 unusually slow? I got a spinning wheel for several minutes now. Used to take a few seconds to upgrade.

Why isn't R5 accepting my old licence? The one I bought was good until 5.99, but I get an error message saying it's an old version.

Well, it installed just fine here a few minutes ago (on OSX 10.10.4). BTW, I was installing it on top of a v5.0 prerelease, not v4.x, but I don't know if that matters.

Congrats, Reaper of course is not only a world class DAW but by far best value for money and again I would like to thank Justin and the team, esp for the stability of Reaper which is really outstanding, cheers.

I'm fine here, after a reboot. Installed and registered, and ready for rock and roll!

Something is very very wrong. downloaded the file, installed it and it works.

Oh wait, that's pretty standard for Reaper. Nevermind

Thanks guys, Lic. renewal to arrive shortly. Extra special thank you for VST3 which makes my Integra 7 experience a much more enjoyable one.

New Reaper.. New License.. looks great and loads my new song template perfect with Reaction theme...

I guess it's time to string up the guitar.. I really need to teach one of my kids to do that.

Default I hope it's not TOO new...

I have been enjoying v4.78 without issues and I got a lot of previous work done on even older versions, so I just hope there aren't regressions or tons of new bugs with the new features.

Congratulations to the complete project team... just a great job on the update release!

Although I have used the beta for several months exclusively, this feels so good to be working with it as a final release!

And, of course, additional thanks to Justin for being, what seems to be, perpetually on the forum.

Thanks again to the team.

Congrats team!

Not a biggy, but I think 5.0 shouldn't override our current theme (it could've been modified, but not saved). All previous betas/RCs left things as they were...

Also, I thought I needed to give you guys more money, but it seems my license is still good, bonus!

when you say: "per item automation"... does that apply to reatune type of effects as well?

will the pitch correction lines move with the item, or are they still stuck where you put them, even if you moved the item away?

God I would love it if I could just move stuff around and not worry about reapitch, reatune, or any other pitch based effect.
