My how the times have changed! Remember threading bulk spools of tape,
Calibrating Dolby units,Removing the pumping from DBX, Editing with

we live in amazing times. Heck, just 5-7 years ago think about how miserable we all were..tweaking windows 98 for performance, buying the 'new' 24 bit audio interfaces for $500, dealing with noise floors around -35, buying the 'new' 7200rpm drives...

I remember starting with an Philips N44?? tape recorder...
It had "duo-play" and "multiplay" . Recording has been a kind of pingpong.
I was proud as one could be after having recorded my voice (pingponged polyphonic), singing "go tell it on the mountain".
Hearing this ugly clipping and distorted result, i was sure it was HiFi.

i remember starting with a mono crappy recorder..
years ago had 2 inch multitrack.
i dont miss the maintenace...lol.

I remember redoing parts until we performed them correctly...as a matter of fact, we still do that....
