Default Stop stretching of timeline based on tempo?

I am doing some intense manual tempo mapping and it's driving me crazy how the timeline is moving around while I try to position a tempo marker. It makes it really hard to position it making accuracy pretty much impossible.

I've looked but haven't found a way to get all measures to have proportionate size to the amount of beats they have [i]only[/b] and not to their temporal duration.

Hope this exists. Thanks!

Not possible yet. Been a feature request since 2010:

Agreed 100%. Imho REAPER still does not implement its musical (tempo-based) timebase option properly and consistently. It is absolutely ridiculous to see the timeline grow/shrink horizontally when changing tempo.
