Default MIDI & Notation - show note entry preview

Most notation software shows you what note is about to be placed on the staff, like so:

That's Musescore, Sibelius, and Finale in that order

I prefer Finale which also displays the beam (another toggle-able action for Reaper to brag about? )

I was using the notation in Reaper recently and scratching my head as to why it felt so wrong... and then it hit me that this preview isn't there and makes for far less confident note entry!

Indeed, the same thing for MIDI note entry would be great, even if it was just the highlighting of the grid cell under the mouse.

This was suggested or asked for a long while back.

All I can say is if it was not optional I would be annoyed.

I hate that thing in MuseScore.

I am happy with the current REAPER click and then drag the note if needed.

To me it's a nice clutter free entry method.

As with anything, of course optional Also it could be much fainter than those mentioned DAWs. I guess isntead of the option on/off, just a simple opacity slider, at 0 its off
