No, not free but cheap!

There were a few people here who bought it for use with Reaper, the update is free for those existing users.

Well done cojomo! I like the new site. I see you have a proper "how to" section, awesome!

As I've purchased your app sometime ago, I have some questions for you..

What are the available functions that AREN'T working in Reaper (PC) currently?

Is it possible to do a AC-7 to Reaper full function presentation , to show what AC-7 is capable of ? I believe this will tremendously boost your sale numbers.

How much is it? (as i don't have access to the app store at the moment)

What's the difference between AC-7 and AC-7 PRO? (features?, $?)

I learned my lesson from the first version.. don't make any assumption about how people will use it! So this version performs exactly like a real MCU (except things which are impossible with the small screen). Also on a Mac, tracks names from the DAW software can be displayed on the device. This is not available on Windows(yet!)

I'll be doing some testing of a new version on Windows tomorrow, so I'll update you after that.

I'd like to add a dedicated Reaper mode, but it seems most people are using a custom plugin for their control surfaces... so I'd have to find the most used one and support it. The built-in MCU driver in Reaper is a bit clunky, but it works for the basics.

The iPad Pro version mentioned will be $9.99, standard iPhone version $5.99. Differences are mainly in the UI, and also related to the speed of the device. Either one will do the job.

Any plans for an Android version? Android is the fastest growing mobile OS in the marketplace right now, is available to users on every carrier, with more manufacturers making phones every day... And of course, you don't have to worry about one company deciding whether to let you sell your product or not, or the associated delays while they make up their minds...

Not at the moment, but I'm keeping an open mind about it. I can certainly understand the advantages you mentioned!
The wide range of Android phones might actually be a disadvantage, if they have differing abilities etc. At least developing for iPhone limits the devices you have to offer support for.

Yes, no problem.
The minimum OS requirement is 3.0 though, so if you have an older unit you might need to update the OS.

Default That was easy...

I just installed AC-7 iPhone control surface. Wow... easy install. Worked the first time. I can't believe how easy that was and it took 15-20 minutes to get up and running.

To do this you need a good WIFI connection...

1. Download and install rtpMidi (I did this on Win7 and WinXP). http://www.tobias-erichsen.de/rtpMIDI.htlm

2. Start and configure rtpMidi.
a. Select session.
b. Enable session.

3. Start Reapear, add a control surface and update the control surface settings:
a. Preferences (Ctrl-P in Windows)
b. Control Surfaces
c. Choose "Mackie Control Extended"
d. For Mackie surface settings MIDI IN and MIDI OUT, choose the session you enabled in rtpMIDI.

4. Purchase and download the (really inexpensive) AC-7 app for iPhones or iPads. You will need to make sure you iOS is at the latest version. If it's not you won't be able to purchase the app.

5. Got AC-7 installed? Good, but don't start it yet. First make sure the the rtpMidi program is running.

6. Now start the iPhone AC-7 app and wait a few seconds for it to show up in the rtpMidi directory.

7. Select the iPhone from the rtpMidi directory and click "Connect." It will then show up in the rtpMidi participants list on the right.

8. At this point you may have to restart Reaper. Then create a test project with one track and start messing around with AC-7. From AC-7, slide faders, arm tracks, press record, press play...

Okay now I have to get back to work recording some BGVs in my living room using AC-7.

Hope this helped. Have fun with your new-found freedom!

Peace,
Chris

TouchDAW for android works well, great for transport control when im recording drums or piano which i would normally have to run back and forth from the computer

I installed AC-7mini the other day and I'm in love with it. Getting it is a no-brainer, if you already have an iOS device.

Oh, Chris, wish I could say I had the same luck. I'm using the AC-7 on ipad and having a hell of a time getting it to talk to my workstation via RPTmidi. I have done everything there is to do, and don't see anything coming up under "Directory" in RTPmidi.

Gotta get this thing to work!! GRRRR..

:-)
