I just installed AC-7 iPhone control surface. Wow... easy install. Worked the first time. I can't believe how easy that was and it took 15-20 minutes to get up and running.
To do this you need a good WIFI connection...
1. Download and install rtpMidi (I did this on Win7 and WinXP).
http://www.tobias-erichsen.de/rtpMIDI.htlm
2. Start and configure rtpMidi.
a. Select session.
b. Enable session.
3. Start Reapear, add a control surface and update the control surface settings:
a. Preferences (Ctrl-P in Windows)
b. Control Surfaces
c. Choose "Mackie Control Extended"
d. For Mackie surface settings MIDI IN and MIDI OUT, choose the session you enabled in rtpMIDI.
4. Purchase and download the (really inexpensive) AC-7 app for iPhones or iPads. You will need to make sure you iOS is at the latest version. If it's not you won't be able to purchase the app.
5. Got AC-7 installed? Good, but don't start it yet. First make sure the the rtpMidi program is running.
6. Now start the iPhone AC-7 app and wait a few seconds for it to show up in the rtpMidi directory.
7. Select the iPhone from the rtpMidi directory and click "Connect." It will then show up in the rtpMidi participants list on the right.
8. At this point you may have to restart Reaper. Then create a test project with one track and start messing around with AC-7. From AC-7, slide faders, arm tracks, press record, press play...
Okay now I have to get back to work recording some BGVs in my living room using AC-7.
Hope this helped. Have fun with your new-found freedom!
Peace,
Chris
