Scarlett series works fine on recent OSX and Windows 7.

I have a 2i2 I use for mobile record sessions, no problem at 64 samples.

One of my students has one of the mid-size scarletts and it's no problem.

Default N.I. Audio 6 Komplete

Hi all,

Referring to my previous post of 04-07-2013, I have meanwhile bought the Audio 6 several months ago, and it performs as can be expected from a device of this day and age. I can't compare it to any other unit soundwise, but both installation of the unit, as well as integreation with Reaper went flawlessly. Also handling the thing is rather intuitive, but being the simple device that it is, this really should not be any different.
I must admit, though, not having pushed it to the limits - far from it - as I am only a true amateur, and one with hardly any time available to devote to music at that. But in that respect, the Audio 6 performs admirably.

I see that the list still has not added the Tascam US 144 MKII and Tascam US 1800, which work marvelously on Reaper x32 and Reaper 64. Loving Reaper!

You can add the Universal Audio Apollo to the "working soundcards" list. I've been successfully using my Apollo QUAD as my primary audio device with REAPER x64 since May of 2012. I use my Apollo/REAPER combo on both a Win7 (SP1) desktop DAW (via FW800) and a 2011 Mac Mini (5,1) using a Thunderbolt connection. Always using the latest x64 versions of both the Apollo & REAPER on both systems. Realtime UAD FX processing working without issues on both Mac & PC. No need to tweak any settings in REAPER. Just plug and play with the default REAPER settings. Works great with the default "Anticipative FX" option for best ASIO and UAD plug-in performance.

Cheers,

Billy Buck

Nope. Works with no problems, at least on Windows 7 x64. Just don't forget to do a loopback test and set correct offset for latency compensation, as latency values returned by driver are slightly off (by ~120 samples in my case).

Focusrite scarlett 8i6 worked very well for about 6 months now on win7 64 and, very important, needs updated driver not the one on the disc.

I cannot believe that the RME Babyface isn't on this list. I've had mine for 17 months now and using it with the latest version of REAPER on Windows 8/8.1. Rock solid drivers, super low latency, high sound quality and the great TotalMix utility.

Zoom R24 works great as 8x2 USB I/F with Zoom ASIO drivers.
(Reaper x64)

Transfers into Reaper from from stand-alone projects recorded at 44.1 are solid tempo match as far as 6 minutes. I haven't tried longer or 48K rate.

As a control surface, R24 works as expected without problems. Faders are NOT motorized.

I should've said Win 8.1 ...

I can add that the Presonus Firestudio Project are working very nicely with Reaper on WinXP Sp3. A matter of fact, I use two of them daisychained to get 16 inputchannels. Not a glitch so far.

AFAIK anything that runs correctly in 7 will run in 8.
That is certainly my experience with the three interfaces that I have used with 8. Two RME and one M-ASudio.

Not exactly a large sample, but certainly zero issues with RME, which is what I use on my laptop (USB) and the studio machine (pci)

Works.
M-Audio is still not supporting Stb mode in Windows though.

Alesis m1 active 320 usb interface and speakers works just fine. The speakers show up as "usb audio codec" and are usb class compliant and so dont need drivers installed by the end user.

The ZOOM R8 is known to work ok in windows xp and 7especially with asio4all. Incidentally, it even seems to be 32-bit installable and useable on ubuntu studio v1404 with wine v162 and pulseaudio. The installer works and at least wasapi in shared mode allows the card to work but i'm not 100% certain. Wineasio might give better results when it is updated. The R8 at least works as a mackie universal midi control surface. Anyways, as a novice at these linux thingss it's encouraging!

+1 for pattste's comment regarding RME interfaces:

They are well known for their amazingly good audio drivers and you can't go wrong regarding sound quality.

Default non working soundcards

wouldnt it be a lot easier to single out the non-working soundcards instead of listing which ones do work?

in other words, this thread doesn't have much value since all soundcards work unless they run on DOS only.

I've got the 1010LT, and in Windows 7, you can't change the sample rate or buffer size anymore. Windows 8 isn't supported either. I just bought the presonus firestudio mobile, which I like very much.

Interestingly, when buying the UR44, the rep told me they were having a lot of issues with focusrite 212 & 214's of late and it was becoming well known amongst audio stores, but that didn't sway me as i wasn't really looking at them. However then a little later he got a call and it was a previous customer advising he was having issues with the focusrite he bought recently, and the rep laughed repeating the customer's words that he should have listened to him. Apparently plenty being returned of late.

Not bashing focusrite and i am sure plenty have it working fine, just putting out there what is going around at the moment....

I replaced my failing Delta-66/Omni a while back. Replaced with a Tascam US-16x08 - great interface!

Variety of input types, multiple outs (assignable), DSP mixer, 8.7ms RTL at 48K/64 samples.

Solid with Reaper x64 and other audio apps in Win8.1x64 environment. This thing rocks! and includes MIDI I/O

Street price: $299

I missed a comment earlier about the "usual showstoppers with RME HDSP cards"

I have been running my 9652 hdsp for at least three OS version changes in Windows and have never ever had a single issue.

What are these "USUAL SHOWSTOPPERS"?

Default utrack from cymatic audio

Reaper is working fine with my 24 track USB soundcard from Cymatic Audio.
The type is called UTRACK 24.
The Utrack is about 900 US dollars. 735 euro's.

After 8 years I replaced my old Terratec Phase 88 dual cards (8x2 =16 track)

Default Alesis M1Active 320 USB monitors/interface

Alesis M1Active 320 USB monitors/interface works in both:

Windows 7
Ubuntu Studio Linux v14.04.x

It's USB Class Compliant for the both the interface and the monitors, so this is really not a surprise. This means that it doesn't require drivers to be installed.
