Default Subliminal Hypnosis Tracks possible with Reaper?

Hi,
I'm interested in creating some subliminal affirmations vocals to either a white noise generated track, nature sounds or even a favorite music track for a friend of mine.
I have both the vocal and a choice of several "music" tracks.

Can I use reaper to make the vocal track subliminal? If so does anyone know how? I'm happy to go out and research settings etc if they aren't common knowledge. I just need to know what to search for. Thanks for any help.

PS. A general question. I'm a Mac user and for some reason the only way I can get the start new thread button to appear is to refresh my screen!?! Is this a setting I can fix or a bug or is it time to take this very old computer out back and old yeller it?

As far as I know the usual way of accomplishing this is through just down mixing the "messages" underneath whatever the program material is. I would suggest as a starting point to get it so that you can't hear the subliminal messages audibly but you do hear a difference when you mute that(those) track(s).

I would think this is as simple as creating two tracks; one with the music/audio/noise, and one with the vocal track (or one to record the vocal track on to). Then you would simply mix the vocal track low enough below the music where it is just past the threshold of audibility.

I have no experience with subliminal messaging...this is just my guess. I don't know how loud such audio is supposed to be. I assume you wouldn't want it any quieter than it has to be.

Lol. You don't need settings, just general parameters, e.g., the subliminal vocal track should be XX dB below the audio. You won't have to do anything special in REAPER or any other DAW to make such a track.

I can't help but imagine the subliminal message that might be going in a friend's music: "You find nextphasevoice attractive. You have an overwhelming desire to give yourself to nextphasevoice immediately." If so, please let us know if it works!

Subliminal hypnosis? That'll be right!
I'm not telling you how in case you use it for nefarious purposes.

Your voice should be recorded somewhat monotone—apparently our subconscious processes this better. Also, leave space between each repetition. The Option-drag trick is great for this, as it makes creating copies of audio regions very easy.

So, the way it will work is if you have 5 commands or affirmations, they will repeat 3 times each, for a total of 15.

Once recorded, drop the volume of your affirmation subliminal track to around -17 dB, or lower. It needs to be barely audible in comparison with your foreground audio. If you’re doing affirmations, make sure that they are audible, so that you can hear them clearly and repeat them to yourself.

I did some work for a hypnotherapist who wanted the recordings to do more than just relax the person to sleep. I found this program: http://www.bwgen.com/ and put it to use with great effect. This doesn't address your subliminal message question in a direct way, but I was able to generate a pattern that matched the length of the hypnosis session that changed over time to move the listener into the desired states for the hypnosis to work.

Reaper already comes with subliminal tracks.

You just don't know it.

In that case, please tell us in technical terms exactly what you want to do. i.e. Do you want to bury the "message" 40dB below white noise or below the music, etc?

There are also some frequency-shifting (or modulation) techniques. I don't know how it's done, but maybe it has something to do with modulating an ultrasonic signal...

You have to be a careful about doing something in the processing that completely removes the subliminal information. For example, MP3 removes masked sounds that you can't hear, 44.1kHz sampling removes ultrasonic information, and at 16-bits nothing exists below -93dB (Or maybe it's -96dB).

...But if you're a skeptic like me, if you can't hear (or otherwise "perceive") the subliminal information, it doesn't matter if the subliminal information is actually there or not... It also may not matter if you're a believer and you get a good placebo effect!

Default Sugesstion (not subliminal)........

Forget the subliminal message thing and just scream at the top of your lungs, "You are now cured of whatever you think ails you, write and send me a check now" and record.

Default I had no idea

how much I was going to LOVE this forum. This is gold.

I received my certificate from the Erickson Institute in Phoenix.

I'd be happy with masked affirmations behind white noise, waves, rain or even music.

I though I wanted silent subliminals but reading what's on the internets sent me down some rabbit holes complete with government mind control experiments etc. The was a more realistic concern that some of the high end frequencies used could burn out your tweeters and your ears.

So I'm happy knowing some levels. It looks like the information needed (and much more not :P ) has been provided above.

Thanks to all!

Ok, I was just joking around in my previous post, but let me ask you a serious question.

Why do the suggestions have to be subliminal?

Why not just have the suggestion audible but presented along with some nice music or rain or water or whatever, and a pleasant, attractive voice saying whatever meassage you feel (or the subject feels) is required?

In the 70's I managed a hi-fi store. I recorded demo cassettes on my Nakamichi deck for all the sales people to use. I placed 3 or 4 repetitive subliminal messages on the recorded material. One of the messages I remember was " I really owe this to myself".

None of the staff was informed of the subliminal content. After several months of use, I let my asst mgr know about the subliminal content. His reply was " I can't tell you how many people have told me that they owe it to themselves when buying"

It is effective, it does work apparently.

Some years ago I tuned BrainWave Generator output with the help of brainwave/cymatic frequency lists and added some soothing background for a good relaxing effect. Relaxing aside, may help meditating also but I noticed soon that it would probably work better if one is not already used to silencing their mind.
