Programming loop(s) in timeline while editing and rendering
I'm not a coder so pls excuse my roundabout language.
I was thinking it would be nice to program playback (and rendering) within the timeline so entire sections could be repeated at will. And maybe even "desired tracks" within a loop could be selected and deselected at will.
I guess it would be some kind of meta-program that would control transport.
e.g.
1 >> 7 | 3 >> 4 | 7 >> 10 | 3 | 1 >> 4 | 7 >> 10 | 9 | 11 >> stop |
This would play sections 1 to 7, then back to 3 and 4, then 7 to 10, then 3, then 1 to 4, then 7 to 10, then 9, then 11 to remainder of song until the end (stop).
A rapper or hip hop artist might want to loop 1/32 or 1/64 beat (several times) and then move on... go back to that loop again, etc.
Myself, I am working on a mix that repeats. Yes, I can copy and paste to get the effect I want. But wouldn't it be slick to be able to program loops, repeats, jumps. etc. of already existing material within the timeline?
I think it would be awesome and open creative doors.
Just a suggestion. Again, I'm not a coder but I imagine that programming simple sequences like that wouldn't be too challenging. (?)
