Default Nebula FX Chains for REAPER !! Quick and Easy.

Hi,

I've been creating these FX Chains for some time now and I think it'd be cool to share them here with you. These are Nebula FX Chains for REAPER. They are mostly AlexB and Analog in the Box libraries (though I'll hopefully add more from other 3rd party developers in the future).

These are just single programs saved as FX Chains. I've never been pleased by Nebula's programs organization and/or usability so I thought about finding a better way to use programs easily and fast. In the past I always had problems while mixing because it was a bit hard to remember what EQ had a specific band I needed in a given moment or browse for that console Buss Group among all these programs... not anymore, I can see, insert and work instances much faster this way and hopefully some of you will also find a benefit of it. It's like having tons of different Nebulas that you can use anytime, quick and easy.

There are more than 1000 FX Chains here! Consoles and EQs, mostly (I also have FX Chains for some free libraries from 3rd party developers, if you need a specific set of Chains for a free library, please let me know).

AlexB Consoles:

Modern Black Console
Modern Tube Console
Modern White Console
Classic Logic Console
Vintage Blue Console
Vintage SideCar81 Console

AlexB Mixing Tools:

Vintage Black eQ
Modern White eQ
Vintage 73eQ
TLeQ
Classic Logic eQ
Preamp Color Suite
Preamp Color Suite PRO New!

AlexB Mastering Tools:

Modern Tube Pre
German Mastering Console

Analog in the Box EQs:

Doc Fear Updated!!! Nov. 3rd, 2010
Mammoth EQ + Expansion
Fate EQ

CDSoundMaster Tapes:

R2R- The Essential Analog Tape Collection & TapeBooster+ Updated!!! Nov. 3rd, 2010 **

CDSoundMaster Consoles:

Bogen MXM K93 Vintage Tube Mixer/EQ ***
The Globe Console **
Tride-N-Tru ADB **

Rhythminmind (Signaltonoize):

RATuration New!
T-Res Filter New!
Moog 4Pole New!
Vintage Iron New!
Reverb 480 New!
3K Reverb Rooms New!
Verb 5K New!

VNXT Reverbs:

EMT 140 Plate **

Hopsing EQs

NTP 182-150

**Created by ngarjuna and updated by Mercado_Negro
***Thanks to piperboy for creating these chains!!

1) Download the specific set you need
2) Decompress its contain in the REAPER FX Chain folder (I have a "Nebula" Folder with sub-folders for "Consoles", "EQ's, "Preamps", etc.)

You can now access these FX Chains by right-clicking on your tracks FX buttons or on your inserts area:

Here you can watch the process in an animation:

Adding a VBeQ band...

Cheers

NOTE: All these FX Chains were created with Nebula 64-bits but they should also work with the 32-bits version (I renamed my "Nebula3CoreII64 Reverb.dll" and "Nebula3CoreII64 Reverb.xml" files to "Nebula3 Reverb.dll" and "Nebula3 Reverb.xml" so REAPER 64-bits could only detect the 64-bits version of Nebula).

This looks great - thanks!

Two questions - in your screenshot, you show different selections for drums, vocals, electric guitars, etc. Are these pointing to presets already within Nebula, or do the FX chains start with your presets for these different tasks?

Second - my guess is that you prefer Alex B over CD Soundmaster? If I had to start with one of the Alex B consoles, which would you suggest?

These are just the 'raw' programs, I didn't touch them at all.

Well, it's not a matter of preferences, I've also heard/read pretty good things about CDSoundMaster's consoles.

After using all AlexB's consoles I've come to the conclusion it is very hard to decide which one to use when or where but there are signature sounds you may be interested in depending on your material. I mix Hip-Hop/R&B/pop and Latin American genres like Salsa, Merengue, etc., and I always find myself using the CLC for Hip-Hop/R&B, the MWC for Pop and a combination of MBC, MTC and VBC for Latin American genres (In this case, I use the MBC for vocals and MixBuss, the MTC for percussions and the VBC for pianos, brass, bass, etc.)

Yep, completely updated

I'll always update them if it's needed and I'll bump this thread and will add a date to each one of them.

I don't own those, sorry. We'd have to rely on those who do have them and hope they make/share FX Chains.

Yes, I'm working on the chains for the Sphere, Trident and BBC consoles and some of my reverbs (VNXT and CDSM's PP2). I'll see what else needs chains after I finish those, the consoles will take a little time (personally I only use the K11 EQin programs so I have very few of those chains made right now).

I'll look forward to those as they should make things a lot easier learning to use this stuff. I got the Globe, R2R,Tape Booster+,NiceEQ,PP2,N-TEN-AT4 packs. Thanks for the heads up and your guidance regarding the world of Nebula ngarjuna!

VNXT EMT 140 Plate

I have them each in two folders: Default settings and Aux Send (which all have the Dry signal set to minimum [-192])

The Globe Console

GLD and GLM categories separated into K11, K7, K5 and CLN programs. Unlike the default organization inside Nebula I don't have the K11 programs broken out into ALL, HI, etc., they're all in the K11 folders.

Tride-N-Tru Console

I'm going to hold off on the BBC console for now, it doesn't look like Michael has taken that to full release yet. I'll add it when it's available.

mercado, just got round to installing these.I 'm using reaper x64 now exclusively and unfortunately the pre-sets open up in my x86 versions bridged not my x64 nebulas.

I Know you use x64 nebula how can I get the pre-sets to open up in nebula x64?

cheers

Thank you mercado to share all that stuff !

It could be interisting, though it's a lot more work, to include parameters of nebula directly to the MCP, so you don't have to use the Nebula UI anymore.

Anyway, thanks

Just use the same name for both files, .dll and .xml. Maybe you want to maintain compatibility with old projects so just make copies of "Nebula3CoreII64 Reverb.dll" and "Nebula3CoreII64 Reverb.xml" and rename them.

THanks mercado,

If I rename my x64 nebulas then how do I open old projects that will be looking for the old x64 ones?

I think you can make a copy of it and rename that, then you should have both instances available: one for legacy projects and the other for using FX chains.

They're for 3rd party libraries so to use them you have to own both Nebula and the third party library in question. These are just a quick way to load programs (the program selection UI inside Nebula is a little clunky).

Can you be more specific buddy!!! What you mean you have to own the third party library? I've installed some FREE nebula give away as well but the Nebula Free 3 is not seeing them and those library are well installed in program folder etc..?

Like I got these free give way from Nebula ( API550b_EQ_Programs_v2, API3124_Preamp_Programs, Demetri_RVRB) but they don't show up)

A library is just a group of programs. All of the links above are third party libraries, meaning they are sampled and sold by 3rd party vendors (purchased in addition to Nebula or Nebula Pro). They won't probably be useful to people with Nebula Free because the libraries pretty much all require a purchased version of Nebula.

From those libraries, there are often free demo programs, but the FX chains won't really help you with those.

The first thing to make sure (in terms of loading your free programs) is that the programs are designed to be used in Nebula Free; it should state that either on the page they were downloaded from or in the README files (if there are READMEs). Some free/demo programs only work in commercial (purchased) Nebula. It varies from developer to developer and program to program.

Each program should contain 1 or more Program files (file extension .N2P) and 1 or more Vector files (file extension .N2V). Make sure the Programs end up in the Programs folder of your Nebula install and that the Vector files end up in the Vectors folder and you should be good to go.

Yep. I should warn you: 99% (if not all) of the 3rd party libraries only work with a purchased Nebula. Nebula Free is only capable of loading programs which are explicitly designed for use with the Free version (mainly the Free libraries from Acustica and some of the 3rd party demos). So buying the 3rd party libraries basically requires purchasing one of the versions of Nebula.

I still haven't tested, but here are some Nebula programs for free:

It would be great to also have this organized in categories like the OP did for the commercial ones

I'm working on it antiClick

I've been creating FX Chains for free programs for some time now but I haven't uploaded them anywhere yet because I want to finish them all.

Zabukowski (NRGUI developer) and I are working on something great for all Nebula users: Nebula Power Tools v2!!! There's amazing and cool stuff coming in this application for both commercial and free users. We still have a lot to do because we want it to be just perfect and useful for everyone, just hang in there!

Great chains, thanks again for making them! I do have a question. I've copied and renamed Nebula so I can run several instances with different settings. At the moment I am renaming the paths in the fx chains one by one in wordpad so they use the appropriate Nebula instance. Is there a way to change the path for multiple chains at once?

*I had a few hours to kill and finished all 700 chains I would still love to know if there's a way

kind regards
