Waters of Redemption
I've posted about it before, but I'm getting very close to a release now.
Teaser trailer here.
Waters of Redemption is a musical fantasy suite inspired by the RPG soundtracks of yesteryear. It is a tragic, bittersweet tale of love, loss and perseverance in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds. And, most of all, the bond between a brother and sister that transcends death itself.
The album was composed entirely on an Acer netbook, using decades-old instrument samples and a small-scale keyboard controller; partly as an excercise in working within hard technical constraints, and partly as a reaction against the current trend of terabyte-sized sample libraries and ultra-realism in virtual orchestral music.
100% REAPER-made. Will be available from all major platforms (Bandcamp.com, Amazon, Google Play, iTunes, Spotify, etc) on December 16.

Houston, we have liftoff! Waters of Redemption is released.
Please keep in mind that the album is still being propagated across the different platforms, so if you can't find it right away on Spotify, iTunes or whatever, please be patient and check back in a few hours. This part of the process is unfortunately out of my hands. Your best bet right now is bandcamp.com!

Figured I'd give this a purchase, I like how all the tracks sound and the proverbial glue holding it all together, and most importantly I like the almost masochistic ethic of doing it the way you did. (=

Oh my god! This album is sooo good! Sell it to Warhorse Studios (Kingdom Come Deliverance). Way better than what they came up with so far :P
Seriously, you did an amazingly epic and at the same time sympathetic work!!!
Perfect Christmas present for the listeners, thank you!

IMO, your orchestration and meter variety strongly adds to the emotional flow, and especially arc of the phrases. Best wishes!

I listened to several pieces. Impressive. Was about to ask what fab library you used... good compositions and arrangements, or should I say orchestration. Got any schooling?

Just a lot of old stuff, as I was trying to emulate the sound of late 1990's/early 2000's orchestral game soundtracks. Roland strings, layered with E-MU strings. Advanced Orchestra brass layered with Miroslav. Miroslav woodwinds. Percussion from various sources but mainly Roland, Westgate, ProjectSAM and some freebies.
And no, no schooling at all unless you cound reading heaps of articles and guides over the years... basically I've been a fan of movie and game soundtracks for ages and I've been figuring things out as I went along.
