Why not include this plug with version 3
The ReaNEQ is AWESOME, why not include it with the version 3 release? It's not real large, even with the sound files (only ~631 KB).
There is one thing that should be fixed though: the negatives and positives should be reversed, as they are upside down in the drop-boxes.
Still, fixed or not...it should be bundled for sure!

Yes, it is awesome.
I've found though that some of the boost settings beyond +9 don't quite function as expected, instead cutting some stuff lower down.
It's nice sounding for sure, and the 'input stage' works very well.
Pipe says it's not a Neve, but it sounds damn like one to me.

It's wrapped around Pipelineaudio's impulse sampling of a Calrec EQ. The problem is that the impulses aren't as tidied up as they need to be.

Well, the samples could be resampled or tidied, no?

Ok, just found this gem. Incredible tool.
Question 1: how is the eq captured? (with what convolutiontool)
When I know this, I will capture a rather outstanding EQ myself and upload the corresponding map. The wavs in the reaneqfolder can be simply replaced I guess as long as I keep the names of the files intact? (an option to choose from different IRfolders would be a great addition too)
Question 2: who's got a Massenburg 9500 lying around? Would be nice to have that EQ on each track. Wouldn't it?

Hmm...
I wondered about this. Calrec EQs are rather nice aren't they!
Which EQ was it?

Oh yeah. And then there's talk about sampling other EQs too by some folks here.

I'm taking impulses of a few of the API EQ's in this classic console I use now and then:
http://bluewaveproductions.com/image...rol_room_a.jpg
The ReaNEQ is the perfect shell/container to host these IR's with my own API GUI. If development on this has stopped, can the code be made public in the Reaper Developer forum perhaps? Open it up on the REAPER Developer forum so we can add to it and wrap it up.

Ah sstillwell...I think I just elected you to help me with this venture. Do you have Skype up and running? If not, get it going. Some API EQ IR's need a home.

I think it's too unfinished to be bundled.

I was onboard with bundling this, but after extensive use I have come to find: - Some impulses jump too much in gain, at least they seem too
- The - and + values are flip-flopped in the radio switches
- I am not sure this is the best presentation of the plug-in, knobs or even detented sliders would be better for adjusting the values.

..also, run a sweep through (the settings of) Reaneq, put a scope (reafir) behind it and take a look at the outcome.
The gainjumps could be easily adjusted I guess if you sacrifice two bits in the process by lowering down the input by 12 db's and compensate for evey impulse that is loaded. If a normalized +3db at 100Hz IR is put in the chain that impulseslot will raise the gain with 3 db's, etc.
But there is something funny with the frequencyresponse of the Reaneq, test it for yourself (with your own impulses).
OTOH, the whole idea is so great, for me it is a longstanding wish to have an IREQ among my plugs. Since convolution cannot reproduce distortion -it translates it to frequencyresponse, ouch!- one should focus on capturing the most clean eq's outthere, Cranesong, GML 9500, Algorithmix Red.
..And someone with a Duende should receive a PM too I guess.
With some effort form the coders and this community Reaneq could become a great project!

Yep.
Blue Wave is nice, lots of great stuff has been recorded there. I've done everything from comedy to film/TV to album work out of that room. Two inch machines in the basement too, although they get used infrequently nowadays.

I really love the concept of "stepped impulse" based convolution, so I was very excited when I discovered ReaNEQ...
Having said that... I (with respect to the efforts of the dev's) have fired it up MANY times and never used it. Maybe its just me / the material I have tried it on... Advanced concept though!

I've found it can sound great, but is really unpredictable in terms of how boosting and cutting in one area can affect the other frequencies.

Why not just get Nebula? Nebula 2 is cheap as chips, even the full Nebula 3 isn't expensive and you've got access to a massive library of Eq's preamps, reverbs etc

Is there a list of what the Nebula library contains?
Is the Nebula "sampled" equipment of high quality or does it differ a lot from "sample" to "sample"?

I'm sure there's a Neve 1076 and an API beautifully sampled that's free if I'm not mistaken along with a ton of tape and other eq's Avalon I think. Also things like the old plate reverbs are very nice, very rich sounding.
http://www.nebula-programs.com/
that's a site hosting a lot of free nebula programs and here's the nebula official site

depends on the program, some use as little as 1% on my cpu (3ghz core2) some use up to 15%. However, given the current trend of modelling actual analog circuits inside plugins now, that isn't a huge amount. I have the new wave arts tube saturator, which uses a whopping 25% cpu
