Master keeps getting Soloed?

Not sure if I'm accidentally hitting a key but my Master fader seems to become soloed every once in a while.

I usually don't notice it but I was just wondering if I'm the only one.

It's weird because I don't catch it until I realize that other sends have stopped working.

I've not had that happen. Did you check your shortcuts for a possible key stroke that you may be hitting?

Kenny ...only suggestion I can offer is how I try to trouble shoot... give up trying work and shift into trying to make it happen

The only solo shortcut I have is "S" for soloing and un-soloing tracks.

But this happens when the track isn't visible. Which is why I don't catch it at first.

At least I know it's not a common problem.

What happens when you hit the "Undo" button? Does it show what happened just before occurrence?

Are you still using a Faderport? Could it be a hardware issue?

Unfortunately, I quit the program 10X and restarted my computer. So it's probably not in the history.

But that's a good plan when it happens again. I just have to remember that this happens. I'm usually doing something complicated (I was using soundflower to send tracks out an output and back into an input) so I thought I was making a different mistake.

The next time you notice it try stopping what you're doing and review the Undo History. May give you some contextual insight as to when and why this happens.

That's the plan. This is the first time that it stopped me from working. The other times it didn't matter but I do know that sometimes I view the Master and notice it has been on for a while.

OK. It just happened and I checked the undo history and it said "Adjust Track Solo (via surface)".

And no. I don't have a surface controller hooked up.

so there must be some script or action or something that allows for your 'surface'... [fader port?] and likely it is set to work off some keystroke???

I thought he meant he didn't have any kind of control surface hooked up but not sure now. That being said, is this a project with some age on it? IOW, could it have had a controller in use in the past which has steps logged in the unlimited undo history and there could be some possible rare bug where some very old undo step shows up?

I ask because I have seen this very intermittent, very weird issue where I can do "some thing" and my entire undo history changes and my ability to go back (and undo that thing) is mysteriously missing from the undo history. It is so rare that when it dawned on me that it may be Reaper and not me, I had already reloaded the project and was unable to investigate further.

I don't have any surface device.

My faderport is hooked up to Pro Tools HD computer. Not my Reaper computer.

I do have an Axiom keyboard hooked up. But it's not usually hooked up so I wouldn't think that was it.

I'm trying every button and nothing seems to be triggering anything.

what happens if you revert to a previous version or perhaps the latest pre release version?

If that results in it all still being the same then I'd think it 'might' be some issue in one of the .ini files...

Oh wait... this is obscure but perhaps worth mentioning.
Awhile back, I started to have a strange issue with how reaper was showing it's lists of channels in the drop down menus... After no one had a clue, I finally got lucky and discovered it was caused by some damn thing that was running at start up. It was something [google I think] that was said to improve how text appeared onscreen.

To find it I had to kill all the stuff that runs at start up and add them back in one at a time until the problem showed up. The big clue was that with all the start up programs off, reaper did not show the problem. Total PITA, but perhaps worth mentioning.

It just doesn't happen often enough to warrant switching versions or to be able to just troubleshoot it. In fact, I have 3 different versions installed and I'm not sure if it happens on all 3 or maybe having them on the same computer is causing the issue.

It's not causing me enough stress to get to the bottom of it but as it shows up and I have any more info, I'll post it here.
