Default Control transport start/stop with midi

OK, I feel really stupid, maybe because I am. I've tried reading up on a few posts that deals with similar issues, but I didn't really understand them.

I have an M-Audio Axiom 25 keyboard. It also has buttons for transport control, play, stop, etc.

I read that in order to assign midi controllers to the transport of Reaper, you have to go into Actions, find the relevant action (Transport: Play/stop), press "Add" and then just hit the relevant key on the keyboard. Well, I did just that, and then... nothing.

Is it possible to get this to work if you're not techi... tech.. not so smart?

Go to this screen:

And right click on your axiom and hit "enable control inputs" or something like that:

Don't have mine plugged in right now.

At LAST, that did the trick! I tried following the Axiom documentation to assign MMC commands to no avail - until you posted here. Thanks a thousand! <3

Hehe, yeah. Tbh I'm only borrowing the board. A friend of mine who's out of town needed me to deliver it to the owner, and meanwhile I just HAD to test it (ooooh hope they are OK with that pp ). I already have another midi-board, but this brick of a board really made me consider buying a new one.
