Default Eight more miles - New Mix

Hi all,

I think i might have posted a demo version of this song a couple of years ago, not sure now.

This is a Bluegrass-ish type song, Ac guitar, banjo, bass and vocals.

Acoustic guitars, bass, main vocal are me, with a mate on banjo and another doing harmony vocals.

I got bored on the weekend as it was raining most of the time so i did a new mix of this one, i also just opened a soundcloud acount so i wanted a song i've done to post up there and this was one i decided to upload.

I recorded this a couple of years back for an album / CD we did.

Anyway let me know what you think of this new mix.

Used mostly the new V3 Toneboosters plugins, stripbus, with TDR feedback 11, and SlicKEQ on the master bus, and Barracade last in line .

Cheers.

Killer job!

That one came along fine, good singing and playing... But I must ask, what/who is the mix contest? A known artist...? Really, really cool.

Thanks for listening Forgen, and for the nice comments.

You can find out all about the mix contest here

Its a lot of fun to mix, nicely recorded, its worth downloading just to use as a practice mix even if you not interested in the contest.

Cheers

not my particular style of music, but i'm not deaf to quality. sounds good to me--not a bad tune either.
i'd like to try something like contest that for practice, but i'm not an Ozone user.

sammy, thanks for taking the time to post your thoughts.

I know its not gonna be many peoples cup of tea music wise but its just mix critique i'm looking for .

I'm not an ozone user either but if i won a copy i might be

I haven't done one of these mix comps before, though i have done some of the mix threads in this forum over the years.
I liked the song and thought what the hell, got nothing to loose.

Cheers

There was an excellent but slightly obscure album in the 1970s called Music from Mud Acres featuring some brilliant talents (Artie and Happy Traum, Bill Keith etc.) This pristine recording could have been on it.
And I don't think it needs any drums!

One of the first guitar books i ever bought was Flatpick guitar ( something like that ) by Happy Traum
i still have that somewhere.
I'll try to find that album online and have a listen.
