Default Reaper's Midi Editor Grid Equivalent to Note Values

I found this image done by a user:
https://stash.reaper.fm/oldsb/9427/notation_revised.png
But what is considered a reaper grid? If I was using a 1/32 grid in the midi editor? Is a grid one single column? Or is a grid two columns before a thick line? Or is a grid 6 columns from 1 to 2?

Here is an image of the grid if my questions dont make sense.

That image is slightly deceiving... There is no ABSOLUTE length unit known as a Reaper grid, since the grid can be adjusted. So, that image can be used as a guide IF your grid corresponds to 4 beats per measure (I'm not in front of Reaper but I think this is represented as "1/4").

So, what that image is telling you is that if your Reaper grid is set to 4 grid divisions per measure, and you draw a note that starts on a grid line, intersects 3 grid lines, and ends on a grid line (ie. is 4 beats long), then you will have drawn a "whole note".

Yeah I think I figured it out. If I use the 1/4 grid and fill in one whole column, it sounds like one quarter note. Though I like using 1/32 grids just because they are more specific if I ever have dotted notes and such. Thanks!

If you're using 1/32 grid, you have to zoom in far enough to see it and make it useful.
