Default Tutorial: Using bpm tagged files in Reaper !

I asked me2beats to make a Script that can read an imported file's BPM tag and set the file's tempo to Reaper Tempo.

The script works on complete mp3 tracks and also on "thirdparty" wav loops !!
You can use Mixedinkey beforehand, to "BPM tag" files.
And then import those files into Reaper.
This script will then make "syncing" those file's to Reaper Tempo a breeze.
This DAW feature, made possible by the script, is very unique; i think only FL Studio is capable of reading a file's BPM tag.

You can get the script after making a donation to me2beats here:
https://www.paypal.me/2beats

And here's my tutorials of how the script works:

For people that depend alot on syncinc imported (thirdparty) wav loops or complete mp3 songs to Reaper tempo, this is a must have script !

I always like your tips Rob. But this one is something I think we can already do in Reaper. At least, I think. Here's what I do. I have a BPM tempo set in Reaper and I start the Media Explorer. With the ME I can browse to the wav's or mp3's. Next I drag and drop the file in Reaper and Reaper automatically adepts the tempo of the wav/mp3 to my projects BPM. (Of course I have set the option Tempo Match to On in the ME.) I don't have to know what the original BPM was.
But maybe I have understood it wrong?

Aye-if you have the tempo match in the explorer-the tempo shows in the bottom righthand the differences between current project tempo=handy that.
Reaper tries to match with,or without any embedded tempo tags I think.
With the `warpgrid script`-there's plenty to play with. =)

Hey Paul !

You didn't understand it wrong :0)
I am aware of the "Tempo Match on" feature in ME.
But for me, this feature is not bulletproof:
It mostly works on small wav loops for me, but it isn't working for mp3 files.
And certainly not for complete songs in wav and mp3 format.
The me2beats script DOES work with complete songs in mp3 / wav format which are "bpm tagged" by software like Mixedinkey.
For people, making "dj mixes" in Reaper, this is an awesome feature.
It als works always with bpm tagged loops for me in mp3 format / wav format.

I have never understood how Reaper can match audio in ME to Reaper Host tempo.
Does it indeed can read some kind of bpm meta data ?
If so, it should work also with bpm tagged audio (complete songs), which it does not for me.

Warm Regards.

I never use whole songs, only short wav's or rexx as loops sometimes to spice up my songs. A guitar riff or a percussion loop in the chorus. So I never encountered any problem in BPM. But that is the difference with me: I am just a hobbyist using Reaper whereas you are a professional user.

Thanks for this Vitalker !

But this Script doesn't seem to work for me, on whole tracks ( in wav/mp3) format.
Which is important functionality for me.

I wonder furthermore what's the advantage / difference with this script, against the "match tempo" functionality in Reaper Media Explorer ..
