And, there's no shortage of good ideas to add to my theme tweaks....

Janne has been ahead of the curve for a long time with his designs!
Wait, what theme is that?? I want it! MUST. HAVE. LOVE!

Hi Janne,

thank you so much for your great themes.

I´m using 2016v4 and to me it´s the greatest Skin, not only in Reaper, actually :-)

Do you think you could someday crank out a version of exactly this theme, only where childtracks disappear completly when a folder is closed?

Would be massivley appreciated :-)

But anyway, thanks for your efforts and your contribution to this community (in short: You rock!)

Best, Marquez

I´ve been a user of Janne 2015 and have made some small mods to it. I´d like to go further but my knowledge of WALTER is 0% and I don´t have the time to learn it and do it myself.

I wonder if you would be interested in doing some mods of your theme by request and be paid for it.

Thanks.

Ed.

This theme is very well done, except to one thing; it changes the size of your tool bar icons.
I have half width icons, this theme forces them to take the same space as the other icons even through the layout doesn't need it. This is the only theme I have used that does this minimum sizing on the icons.

This is a extremely nice theme, but for some reason the track tinting does not work on any of the themes? ( including the older ones like v1.00)
I also tried all the color editions in the zip packs, but the only the contrast of the tracks changes very slightly. The track name bars do appear coloured though..

I've been browsing for some 3 hours now, am i doing something wrong?
I just coloured my tracks the usual way, but no track tint?

EDIT: oh jep, i did something wrong! Completely overlooked the tint option in the preferences menu.
It's great now, really a superb theme!

I love these themes. However the graphics here in the forum have a brown look to them and when I install the themes they're gray. How do I get that brown/tan look?

Must be something with your browser (or maybe something like flux) the screenshots all should show the theme as it is, gray.

This theme is super awesome! My only gripe with it is that the track names are center aligned. Can anyone maybe give me a hint how I could change this so they're left aligned? Thanks so much for creating this theme!!

Hey

In rtconfig.txt in theme package search for:

tcp.label.margin

Set the last (fifth digit) from 0.5 to 0.

EDIT: Or if you dont want to go into details just exchange the rtconfig.txt with this one attached in this post bellow.

Youll have to do it for each layout separately.

For more info on ui elements and what each digit does: http://www.reaper.fm/sdk/walter/walter.php#elements

hope this helps.

Thanks a lot! I tried editing it myself & also using the file you provided but after re-zipping the folder and choosing it as the whole theme stops working. Not sure I'm doing sth. wrong with the re-zipping. It's a regular .zip that's renamed to .ReaperThemeZip right?

Yes make a regular zip and just rename the extension to .ReaperThemeZip

Just make sure you zip the image folder and the .ReaperTheme file

I uploaded the current version of my remix to stash:

https://stash.reaper.fm/theme/1845/Ja...ReaperThemeZip

- more gray
- improved scrollbars
- fairly big changes to TCP to suit my ITB workflow, got rid of buttons I feel belong to the mixer, some rearranging and color edits.

If you use it, please let me know if you find something wonky, I don't use all layouts and have a particular window setup, so there's probably several oversights etc.

Hi Janne!

recently I've reinstalled my system and can't find one specific theme of yours I've been using before. It can be seen on this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFWR...ature=youtu.be

Can you please tell me where can I get it now?
Thanks!

Actually the video shows another old version of your theme, and I couldn't find it though I was looking everywhere on my disk drives for occasional backups. Funnily, I've succeeded to find it minutes after I wrote my last post by importing my old configuration file. The theme was called JanneUniverse2014_v114.

All in all, the issue's solved. Thanks again!

Oh that one is also still present in the stash. I had to reupload them because the old links were giving problems.

That is the Light version of the theme, whereas I use its Dark (or regular) version with dark arrange area... couldn't find it in the stash.

Actually awesome theme, can't stop to say that.

This theme is awesome!

I have one problem with it - I really only like to use the separator TCP layout because I have an always onscreen mixer with all the mixer function buttons so I don't really need them in two places on the same screen taking up space.

What I really miss in the separator layout though is mute & solo.

Anyone familiar with Walter nice enough to add to this rtconfig.txt code the few missing lines that would add a working mute and solo button at the end of the track label?

<code>

Layout "Separator" "sep"
clear tcp.*
set tcp.size [326 84 122]

front tcp.label tcp.recarm tcp.io tcp.recinput tcp.fxin
set tcp.margin +:maxfolderdepth:1 [10 0 0 0]
set tcp.margin +:folderdepth:1 [-10 0 0 0]
set reverse.margin * [-1] tcp.margin
set margin.to.width [0 0 tcp.margin{x}]
set tcp.trackidx [303 33 24 16 1 0.5 1 0.5]
set tcp.trackidx.color [187 187 187]
set tcp.trackidx h<32 folderstate<0 [0] . .
set tcp.label [4 3 296 18 0 0 1 0]
set tcp.label.color [177 177 177]
set tcp.label.margin [26 0 3 0 0]

EndLayout ;

</code>

I tried copying & pasting
set tcp.mute w<166 [0] [229 3 20 18 1 0 1 0]
set tcp.solo w<143 [0] [252 3 20 18 1 0 1 0]
from the other default layot but these just added two non-working buttons inside the label.

What I'd like to have is a one line TCP with (label)(mutebutton)(solobutton).

Would appreciate any help!

Hey

Add this layout:

Layout "Separator2" "sep"
clear tcp.*
set tcp.size [326 84 122]

front tcp.label tcp.recarm tcp.io tcp.recinput tcp.fxin
set tcp.margin +:maxfolderdepth:1 [10 0 0 0]
set tcp.margin +:folderdepth:1 [-10 0 0 0]
set reverse.margin * [-1] tcp.margin
set margin.to.width [0 0 tcp.margin{x}]
set tcp.trackidx [303 33 24 16 1 0.5 1 0.5]
set tcp.trackidx.color [187 187 187]
set tcp.trackidx h<32 folderstate<0 [0] . .
set tcp.label [4 3 246 18 0 0 1 0]
set tcp.label.color [177 177 177]
set tcp.label.margin [26 0 3 0 0.5]
set tcp.mute [255 3 20 18 1 0 1 0]
set tcp.solo [278 3 20 18 1 0 1 0]
EndLayout ;

Hope its what you had in mind. It should look like this:

@ OP:

Many thanks for the 1.04 update !!
1 Question though.
I see that Master Mixer Channel has big meters, but no visible FX insert slots.(or am i blind ?!).

How can i make FX insert slots visible on this channel, so i can place FX plugins on this channel ?

You somehow switched to Big Meter layout for Master MCP.
The Default layout has all the controls.

Options/Layouts/MAster Mixer Panel and set to the default one

Check View/Screensets/Layouts and see which layout is set as default for the MAster MCP. Select the first empty row in the dropdown- that is the default

It should be ok. Strange. I just ttried the same position of a docked master you have and it normally shows the default layout.

1.Try to put the master back to the mixer out of the docker and see if it resets

if not
2. Delete and try to reinstall the theme

1.Default
2.Big meter and
3.Extended meter

I really appreciate your help !

1) - de-installed your version 1.04.
2) - Installed Janne2016IIPack_v10 (just saw that on reaperstash and installed that one).

Outcome:
Now, all is good: Hooray !!
(Sidenote: Janne2016IIPack_v10 even seems to look better than v1.04 on my macbook retina 2015 !).

Thanks for this theme.

May I please get advice (from anyone) how to change the color of unselected tracks? The red circle encloses the color I want to change:

I want to try something darker, like in JanneUniverse2014_v114.

I've tried this: In the "Theme development/tweaker", I've changed "Unselected track control panel background (enabled with a checkbox above)" to extreme black, but the resultant color isn't black -- it's gray, not as dark as I'm hoping for.

No idea what else to try. Thanks.

Theme uses transparency so the unselected track color only partially gets through. Youll need to edit the mcp_bg.png image in the themes image folder.
