Default Collapse Folder Track in Track Manager

Pretty sure it's not possible, but on the off-chance that the option is staring me in the face somewhere in REAPER...

Is it possible to collapse a Folder track in the Track Manager to hide the child tracks?

Would be great for organising large numbers of tracks with lots of VSTi multi-outs etc.

yes you can
there are threads in the forum.. it's about changing the theme to a 0 height in the "tiny" tcp layout or somethign like that.. can't remember exactly.

other solution would be a custom action that actually hides/unhides the children tracks

Wouldn't that just hide the tracks in the TCP?

Apologies if I've worded it badly, but what I was on about is actually collapsing the Folder Track in the Track Manager, just as you can in the TCP.

So instead of seeing,

Kontakt Folder 01
Track 01
Track 02
etc...
Kontakt Folder 02
Track 01
Track 02
etc...

in the Track Manager, you'd be able to collapse (with a little arrow to the side of it or something) the Kontakt Folder 01.

If you right click in track manager there are a couple of context menu items that lead me to believe the can be hidden when the folder is set to hidden but I can't seem to find what they actually do...

"Display child tracks if folder/parent is displayed"

However, when I unselect that option, I don't see anything change. I also didn't see anything that allows collapsing from the track manager itself.

You could just do that in track manager anyway by hiding/showing the child tracks. The OP wants to collapse/expand folder children from within track manager which I don't think is possible.

Thanks for the replies, guys.

Yup, seems it's not possible then. Shame.

The Track Manager is great for naming, colouring, hiding etc tracks, which makes it great for organising templates.

It would just be great to be able to collapse Folders in the Track Manager (and optionally have that mirrored in the TCP/MCP) when organising lots of folders with many tracks inside.

OP wants to collapse the view inside the Track Manager. That option affects tracks in the track/mixer panels.

One would think but it doesn't appear to do anything.

Oh, I misread the earlier posts. And I never actually use that option, so I didn't realize it was broken. Whoopsie.

I'm bumping this because I'd like to know if there's yet a way to collapse a folder from the track manager or some similar mechanic.

Display child tracks if folder parent is displayed. Yep, I was wondering about this too and found out the title is a bit misleading:

I saw that post and thank you. It's rather useful when filtering via search.

But I'd really like the behaviour that it seems to imply: close/open child tracks with the parent folder. So if I have a "Drum" folder, I'd like all child tracks to follow the visibility when I close it in the TCP/MCP columns of the track manager.

Is there anything like this or is this a feature request that would need to be made?

If I click on a track in the track manager, it will not go to the actual track in the TCP if the track is currently in a collapsed folder.

Is there a way the would automatically uncollapse the folder or another way to control folder/track visibility from Track Manager?
