Default Where are the plugin folders?

I have just moved to macOS after using Reaper on Windows for many years.

My question is - where are the Reaper folders? I want to add VST and AU plugins
in the appropriate Reaper folders but where are they?

thanks, Laurence

Default locations are:

- AU Plugins -> Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/
- VST Plugins -> Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/

Some plugins might also install themselves to the user folder:

- AU Plugins -> Macintosh HD/Users/<Username>/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/
- VST Plugins -> Macintosh HD/Users/<Username>/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/

The ../<Username>/Library folder is hidden by default and can be accessed via:
1) Open Finder
2) Click "Go" on the menu bar
3) Press and hold the ALT/Option key, then click on the appearing Library shortcut

You can also make and organize your own plugin folders and add them to the plugin path in Reaper's Preferences -> Plug-Ins -> VST

The two different folders, one in the root library and the other the user library, both work equally as places to put the plugins. Only difference is that other users won't have access to those in another user folder. For ease of use I put an alias of my user plugins folder on the desktop.
