Default how to rescue a firewire interface ..

Hi guys,

wonder if is there any chance to link a firewire audio to a laptop, both of them to be controlled by an external pc, eventually via LAN?
I have:
a quite new desktop pc with NO FW port on it in which I installed Reaper;
a firewire audio interface;
a (2007 sony) laptop with a FW port on it.

I guess there's something to do with the network shared devices, isn't it?
Could I see my "external" FW interface among the "shared devices" linked to the laptop?

T.I.A.

Cheers

I would buy a Firewire PCIe Card for your Desktop. (15-50€).

of course... my fault, Vinod, no way to mount a bargain fw PCIe on my desktop since it's a mini-ITX build case and there's no room for it.
Any other FW port on the mobo would cost me about 90$ (the value of my audio interface, btw) so I'd better buy a brand new usb audio interface...
