Damn, dude - if you're going to support vintage OSs, how about a BeOS version?

I noticed on my Win 3.51 for workgroups box, the GUI refresh seeems sluggish when I run more than 50 tracks.
Reaper fuggin SUCKS. Why can't cockos developers fix this simple issue?
/smartass
on a serious note, yall have a LOT more sympathy for old OS's than I do. There's just no good reason to still be on win98 and trying to run *ANY* DAW on it. I'm sorry. There's just not. Just let it go...cause it's gone. lol

WinXP and Vista users should test if it doesn't break it for them

I've proposed that before, but noone listens to me!!
Atari?
At least we should have an Atari option that makes "Ping".
And there's a very well done Atari-theme as well (which reminds me of bad old Atari-days).

That's correct (there should be little effective difference for xp/vista users).

Don't we have an Atari theme ? It's mono-chromatic coolness reminded everyone of that lovely little b/w monitor that needed to be placed 10 cm in front of your face.

But...why everybody remember Atari speaking about midi and not Amiga when Amiga was far superior in audio than Atari?
Yes, sorry. I fall in love with Amiga. The very far superior Personal Computer in the world.

How about a bootable version of Reaper, that has only Reaper and simple internet and office functions? Many of us don;t need much more than that!!!
And don't let your mind go to multitasking, no, only one thing at a time, also put there a playback button that closes the screens when you are playing back to mix, that way we can consentrate on the sound and not the waveforms (which by the way Reaper shows so beautifully!!!)
:-)

Thanks!
Posting from Iraq, I finally did get to download an update (2.58) - just wanted to mention, though, that this version is giving me an error message AFTER closing Reaper. The:
Reaper has encountered an error and needs to close
This is strange, as I've already "exited" from Reaper at that point.
First version to ever do anything like this with me.
In any case - still seems to work great while open!
Jay

Did you see the recent update to Bars&Pipes Pro? The author never stops crancking out the new code! (it is freeware now, in case someone uses an emulator.

The late Tim Conrardy atari world website might be worth a visit, in case the family needs to shut it down in his absence...

it had better audio than the ST... but it really wasn't that good. 4 channels of 28khz 8bit? LP filter had a fixed rolloff at ~3kHz (i think?).
i still have all my old protracker files around here to transfer to pc one day.
