Default Looking for 1930's vocal sound

I am trying to reproduce a song with the vocal style from the 1930's
I think it was accomplished by singing through non-electric megaphone.
I search but can only find the modern bullhorn effect which is definitely not what I want. Maybe some sort of Victrola effect might work though, I hope this makes sense. I doubt I will find a magic vst so I am guessing some eq boosted mids but am fishing for helpful ideas

think i'd try low/high passing and maybe bit reduction (readelay). this could be helpful, too. http://www.videointerchange.com/audio_history.htm

no bit reduction, but yeah - high/low pass, maybe add some low-level white noise, and compress the heck out of it.

Even more sick- I read this post while munching on a mini cereal box- you know the ones that come in the variety packs. I sung into it when empty and I'll be damned- 1930's! It's also about performance too. Lot's of note sliding and verbrato for that style.

You might want to have a look at Speakerphone by AudioEase (makers of Altiverb).
You can simulate almost any kind of microphone, gardenhose, bullhorn and enviromental effect with it.

there used to be a free plugin called "vintage" where you could not only apply some filters and distortion in a very realistic manner, but it also had tuneable noise and clicks and what not.
"used to be" means: i can't find it any longer. i guess it was "xoxos", not sure though… good luck! it's really great!
