Linear phase multiband, compressing transparently by comparing the compressed and original eq (using time "frames") and amplitude envelopes of these bands, then compensating for Fletcher-Munson (based on monitoring loudness level declared by the user), for pure scaling of the signal, to just make it louder, without touching its character.
