Default Assigning a midi controller Key to a track regardless which track is highlighted

Hello all,

I have assigned a key on my midi controller to cut all sound coming from Battery3 via a mute group; however, it only works when I have the track containing battery3 highlighted. Is there a way to assign a key to trigger a track or vst regardless of what track is highlighted?

Thanks in advance

Yes, with cycle action editor you can make a macro that work with the name of a track

Example, let's say your track name is "Battery"

Open the cycle action editor and add a new macro :

Save current track selection
Console S *Battery*
Mute selected track
Restore current track selection

Nom add your key command to this brand new action

By triggering it, you will mute all tracks that contains "battery" in their name

Thanks for the response!

What I'd actually like to do is trigger a specific cell in battery regardless of what track I have highlighted. Would there be a way to assign a similar macro to that function?
