Default GIGAWATT - Oblongata AND Nerve's Ending (6th and 7th track streaming now!)

Giving you a double whammy today as I'm anxious to get the album completely out!

An exercise in minimalism. Same GIGAWATT style (as in repetitive grooves )
Probably the weakest song on the album but definitely crushing still.

lyrics:
The matter of gods
Belongs to the heavens
The matters of man
Belong to the mind

The zeros and ones
Permeate the future
The program returns
With knowledge entwined

The purpose of knowing
Is buried within it
A task that's become
Too overwhelming

The mission is lost
The journey is over
And what have we learned
The answer lies in the...

Oblongata

An instrumental?
Indeed!
Mainly wanted to satisfy my curiousity as to whether or not I could write something beautiful.
Well I can.
Not of the norm for GIGAWATT material but still hanging on to it via dissonant chords and layers.
Also consider this a warning: THIS SONG CONTAINS HEAVY DOSES OF LYDIAN

http://www.reverbnation.com/artist/artist_songs/49446

So the album wraps up next week with "Aurapture".
The program comes full circle.
The end... or the beginning rather.

Also I'll have a link ready for the bulk download of art, lyrics and high quality files.
see ya then!

Great! Love the riff in Oblongata. Love the solo sounds in Nerves.

Great!

Oblongata: sounds familiar to me. did you resume a riff/theme? maybe I'm mistaken. anyway: greatness.

Nerve's ending: very contemplative. I think it could do with some more strangeness like the backwardz sounds at 1:43. But anyway, very nice as a "chucker-out song" (thats what we call the last song in germany) :-)

My fav still is 'temporal causality'.

Oblongata is an awesome track. Haven't listened to anything else, yet, still busy with that.

*edit*

Listening to The New Binary now, fantastic stuff!

The oblongata riff was originally the bridge of "jack of all trades". So that's why it sounds familiar.
And nerves ending is not the last song!
I have 1 more to go.
Sure temporal is your favorite... But you haven't heard "aurapture" yet
Thanks for commenting guys!

Loving the riffs in Oblongata. Again, I'm trying to listen to these in the context of the songs that sit on either side of them. The arrangement of this album overall is brilliant.

Following the driving, straight forward (for you) riffs of Oblongata with a spacey, floaty track that gives the sense of being lost in a bit of a vacuum was a perfect choice.

I told ya. My comments are starting to get boring and predictable. I've got no critiques. I can't find fault in any of this. The writing, the feelings, the story, the journey, the mixing, the end to end production. Man, I'm so impressed with what you've created here.

Thanks Kevin!
But I'm certain the next song will be your favorite... It's mine for sure.
