Reassigning split key "S" to split multiple selected items under mouse cursor?
To me the easiest approach to the super fast item splitting behavior that I absolutely love in Cubase was a suggestion I found where you reassign the split key "S" to the action "Item: split item under mouse cursor". With this mod I can float the mouse over wherever I want and hit S to split, without first placing the edit cursor. Try this out, friends, if you haven't: it's brilliant and saves some clicks.
What I'd further like to know is how to make a script or command that does this also for MULTIPLE items selected, which makes it as good as Cubase in this way. Right now it only works for whatever item you're hovering over. What I'd like is to be able to select multiple items, float the cursor over any of them and hit "S" to do that, as well hit "S" to do it over whatever I'm floating over. This is how it works in Cubase (In Cubase it's done simply by using a modifier key with regular select cursor instead of hitting a key - is there a way to have that action in Reaper, I wonder?), and though I know they're different DAWs, this is something that really speeds up editing because it saves a lot of clicks. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!
