Default How do you change the colors of the transport controls?

Hello all,

I vaguely remember a post where there was a process where you needed to change the name of a .dll extension (not sure which one)to get access to transport icons. There you could go in and change the look or color scheme and then rename it back to work again. I was thinking about giving the transport controls more contrast (less gray).

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Rick

nothing to do with dll files...

all the files are .png files...

if you unpack a theme to a folder you will see all the png files and can then find the ones related to the transport and use something photoshop or some other graphics editor to change them.

hopi, Thanks.

Can anyone tell me were I can find the .png icons for the transport (rewind, stop, play, pause fast forward)? I've searched everywhere.

Thanks!

As Hopi said, they are in the image folder of the theme you are using.

All themes are in a folder called ColorThemes inside the resource data directory your Reaper uses. Reaper can help to find that directory: Options menu: "Show REAPR resource path in explorer/finder..."

Many themes (including the default) nowadays come as zipped files with the extension *ReaperThemeZip. Makes things a tad more difficult to explain (and tweak) but yields a bunch of advantages for the end user. They are ordinary zip files, technically, so you can open them with any unpacker application that can deal with zip (eg winRAR, or 7zip).
The Default theme files are in "Default_4.0.ReaperThemeZip". Unpack the zip and you find a folder called "Default_4.0_unpacked". That's the image folder of the default4.0 theme.

The names of the images you're interested in should all start with the word "transport". Eg transport_play.png is the play button.
