Default fade in/out shape question

Please see the attached screenshots.

I have my default fade set to one shape, but when I do the action "Fade item out from cursor" I don't get the fade shape I have set. I have to right-click and change the fade shape to be the one I want. There must be a way to set this so the fades are created the way I want when created.

Hmm. It seems to be working now. I'm working in a different session though. Its almost as if that other session had some default values that didn't change when I changed the preference. I checked it several times.

But in any case it appears to be working.
